Janus,
the ambivalent Indo-European deity with two
faces, one on each side of the head, was one of
the most ancient gods of Tome. Originally the god of gods
and benevolent creator, he
became the god of change and such transitions as that of development of past to future, of
one condition to another, of one vision to another and of one universe to another... He
was god of the GATE. He was the presiding deity of the beginning of anything. The opening month of the year (January from janua,
'gate') was sacred to him...
(ct. Jean Chevalier and Alain
Gheerbrant. Dictionary of Symbols (Penguin
Books, New York 1994) pg. 552.)
Now Janus whose key the pope usurped...was also Dagon. Janus, the two-headed
god, who had lived in two worlds, was the Babylonian divinity... Dagon. Dagon, the
fish-god, represented that deity as a manifestation of the same patriarch (Noah) who had lived so long in the waters of the deluge. As the Pope bears the
key of Janus, so he wears
the mitre of Dagon. The Papal mitre is entirely different from the mitre of Aaron and the
Jewish high priests. That mitre was a turban. The two-horned mitre, which the Pope wears
when he sits on the high altar at Rome and receives the Cardinals, is the very mitre worn
by Dagon, the fish-god of the Philistine and Babylonians. (ct. Rev. Alexander
Hislop, The Two Babylons. (Loizeaux Brother, inc. 1959) pg.
214-215.)
Notes on 1 Samuel 5:3-5,8. This
idol was supposed to be partly in a human form, and part in that of a
fish...The motive which induced
the Philistines to set up the ark in the temple of Dagon, may be easily ascertained. It
was customary, in all nations, to dedicate the spoils taken from an enemy to their gods:
1. As gratitude offering for the help which they supposed them to have furnished; and 2.
As a proof that their gods, i.e., the gods of the conquerors, were more powerful than
those of the conquered. It was, no doubt, to insult the God of Israel, and to insult and
terrify his people, that they placed his ark in the temple of Dagon.... We have the
remains of this custom in the depositing of colours, standards, &c., taken from an
enemy, in our churches; but whether this may be called superstition or a religious act, is
hard to say. (ct. Adam Clarke, A Commentary and
Critical Notes (New York: Adingbon-Cokesbuby Press, 1843). val. 2. pg. 222-223.)
'
The
Philistine god, Dagon, received a bad press in the Bible, because he was Yahweh's chief
rival at the time and also a more popular deity. One writer claimed that the mere presence
of Yahweh's ark in Dagon's temple, as a spoil of war, destroyed Dagon's image and caused
the temple to be deserted forever. (cf.
E.G, White. The Signs of the Times, 07-24-1987, p.3.)
Fish are
at
one and the same time saviors and instruments of revelation. A Fish was one of Vishnu's
avatar (incarnations): it saved Manu, lawgiver of the present cycle from the flood and
then brought him to Vedas, in other words revealed to him the whole of sacred knowledge.
Christ himself is often depicted as a fisherman, Christians being fish since the waters of
baptism are their natural element, and he himself is symbolized by a fish. Thus he is the
Fish which guides the Ark of the Church, just as the Matsya - avatara guided the
ark of Manu. Sacred fish in Ancient Egypt,...Dagon, and...Oannes, bear witness to identity
of symbol...as 'the Revealer'. Oannes, indeed has been regarded as a prefiguration of
Christ. .
Dagon
was
one "...of Yahweh's leading enemies. On account of the bad publicity given him in the
Bible, he naturally became a leading demon of the Christian hell". In religion,
symbols play an important role. The symbolic object offers many sensations, every one of
which helps to keep the idea that is symbolized in the foreground of consciousness. A
symbol is the hold that a man can obtain on an abstract thought, the peg upon which he can
hang his heart, the funnel through which he pours out his soul.
We as a race are educated through symbols.
NOTICE!
The "fish"
is not a symbol of Jesus, but the "Blood and Fat" IN the
fish are symbolic for man's Redemption for sin. Jesus' Blood on Calvary was NOT a
symbol. It was real Blood! Sinless Blood. Jesus asked His Church to remember Him with
this
RITUAL (HOLY COMMUNION) ) "until He comes". The Blood was
spilt, and you don't need to eat it now.
In types and symbols the great truths of redemption were veiled.
cf.
White. Christ's
Objects Lessons (Review and Herald Publishing Association, Washington. D. C.
1900.) pg. 10
Are you looking for JESUS, or the Symbol?
Please forgive us. We are not degenerating the Pope.
He, as myself, stands before Jehovah, the Creator of The Universe. He,
Jehovah, accepted His Choice of Jesus' Blood for our sins.
The System of Salvation is used in the Blood of Jesus for our sins. Even to this day, the
Jews proclaim "Jehovah" as Sovereign God!. The Pope's God is not
Jehovah! He says so.
Isn't it strange that
Christians who believe in the Ten Commandments seem openly to violate
one of them? After all, God said: "Remember the Sabbath day, to keep it
holy" (Exodus 20:8). The Sabbath was the seventh day of creation
and the seventh day of the week, yet most Christians worship on Sunday,
the first day of the week. Why the change? ...Today, with the exception
of the Seventh-Day Adventists, Christians hold Sunday as their day for
public worship. (See McCollister, John C. The Christian Book of Why
(Testament Books, New York. 1983) pg 122.
The Pope is not the
problem, but the system is. He, like us, are
human.
He says so. He is "a vicar", "a clerk", a person who works in an
office performing such tasks as keeping records, attending to
correspondence, or filling. My question is "Who is his President?"
Does he (The Pope) "work in the office"? How long has the "President's Business" been
in use? "Since I am looking for my
GOD, not the "worker", let me look
some more. I have one of His 'Business Cards!' Thank you, Sir".

Your God
should be more than a
Teddy
bear!
Why not use The Real Comforter, The
Holy Spirit of God (Jehovah). |

The Benediction? Is that the symbol of the Devil? Is it a
Benediction or a malediction?

Torture of suspects was authorized by Pope Innocent IV in
1252,...
Following church traditions, Inquisitor Franciso
Pena declared in 1578 that:
We must remember that the main purpose of
the trial and execution is not to save the
soul of the accused but to achieve the
public good and put fear into others.
